We have never believed in creating any type of “throwaway” products, so we build very durable long lasting products that will last for generations. This obviously reduces the amount of stuff that ends up in the landfill.
We also prefer to use locally produced materials. Many of them produced in Western Wisconsin, keeping transportation to a minimum as well as supporting jobs locally.
Because we are a custom cabinetmaker, there is no need to use the loads of cardboard packaging required for most manufactured cabinets, as we deliver our cabinets wrapped in furniture blankets.
We are able to utilize plywood with no-added urea-formaldehyde adhesives which reduces off gassing of harmful chemicals and helps to improve the indoor air quality in our homes.
Recycling has always been and will continue to be a large part of our waste handling. Dan has been involved in recycling for decades. Anything that can be recycled, is, from cardboard and office paper, plastics, aluminum, steel, to wood, even our sawdust is reused as animal bedding.
Reducing waste has always been a priority both in efficient usage of material and labor. Our construction methods promote the most efficient use of materials.
The finishes we use reduce the use of Hazardous Air Pollutants, including formaldehyde. We also have GREENGUARD® Certified finishes available that are HAPs free, low odor, and formaldehyde free.
